BC Open Recap


As the dust settled at Millcreek Park, we had a lot of great things happen yesterday. Thirteen girls ran their fastest 5k of the season. Eight girls ran their fastest time ever at Millcreek park, and the Varsity team managed to upset Seneca and finish 2nd behind a very strong Shawnee team. Let us first look at the JV Race. Angie Arnett ran over a minute faster than she did last year to finish 3rd over all for the girls and be the second sophomore to cross the line running 22:23. Casey Wrightson ran her fastest 5k of the season at 22:40 to finish 6th over all. Emma DellaFemina was next to cross the line running her lifetime best of 23:16 to place 12th. Other JV Runners that saw season best races were:

Hayley Foglia 24:55(hers fastest time at Millcreek ever), Carolina Bazan-Berreda 25:57, Faith Rivera 27:30, Angelina Rivera 27:46, Laura Marquez 27:50, Adrianna DiPaolo 30:45.

The Varsity race saw some people really step up. Kate Rathman led the charge finishing 2nd in 19:02. This is the #2 time in school history ever run at Millcreek park, and breaks Megan Lacy's soph. clasa record of 19:06. Sophia Eick shocked the field placing 5th running a lifetime pr of 19:25 (#4 all time in school history). Shannon Young also had a great race shaving over two minutes off of her previous best at Millcreek park running 20:29 for 13th place(#10 all time in school history). Riley Gleason was in next at 20:58, almost two minutes faster than she ran last year, ro place 18th. Kayla Fericy ran 21:17(lifetime pr and nearly 1:50 faster than she ran last year) to place 24th. Rounding out the top seven were Gabby Moraschi 22:31 41st and Alyssa Blackmon 22:35 42nd.

Team results were 1st - Shawnee 41 points, 2nd - Cherokee 62 points, 3rd - Seneca 73 points, 4th - Lenape 93 points, 5th - Moorestown 106 points, 6th - Rancocas Valley 151 points, 7th - Cinnaminson 171 points, and 8th - Moorestown Friends 256 points.
