The Cherokee Challenge marks the start to this years cross country team. The team is over 20 girls this year with quite a bit of first time runners. The freshman race was up first seeing Gabby Urban, Alexa Butler, Hafsa Salahuddin and Brooke Garrity all racing cross country for the first time ever. Gabby was our top finisher earning a medal running 14:03 to place 21st.

The sophomore race had our lone runner of Maya Kumar. She ran 13:58 to place 24th. Her time was almost a minute and a half faster than last year. The Junior and Senior races were our largest races. In the Junior race we had Megan Niglio, Grace Wojciechowski, Emily Butler, Grace Gorsline, Sydney Morrison, Selen Arkan and Kaitlyn Repsher. Meg Niglio led the way with a 10th place finish running 12:38 which was her first time under 13 minutes on the home course. First year runner Grace Wojciechowski ran 13:28 to place 30th.

The senior race did not disappoint. Kerry O'Day, Regan O'Shaughnessy, Lainy Bromley, Maddie Van Haren and Alli Rathman all had their last opportunity to race on the 2 mile home course. Kerry had a late surge to move herself into 2nd place running 11:44 which ties Nikki Clifford's best which is #2 AT. Regan had a great 2 mil opener running 13:26 to finish 31st. The team finished 5th in the girls division out of the 38 teams that competed and 2nd in the co-ed division.
