South Jersey Group IV Sectionals

Memorial Day weekend and the team traveled off to Egg Harbor Twonship high school for the South Jersey Group IV Sectional Championships. 17 season best performances along with many being lifetime best. Kaela Schrier got the meet started off in the right direction with a lifetime pr of 127' 7" to become Cherokee's first ever Sectional champion in the Javelin. Her Throw is #2 in school history. Also on Friday Freshman Morgan Clark ran her pr in the 400m at 59.53(#9 AllTime) to finish 7th and just miss making it to states. The 1600m saw Jess McAdams run her lifetime pr of 5:17.41. Haddonfield Night of Distance

With all the distance girls running an 800m for a speed work, the Haddonfield Distance night did not disappoint. I told the girls before the race you have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable and that is just what they did. The girls walked away with 10 season best performances with 8 of those being lifetime bests. Jess McAdams led right from the start to take 1st running 2:21.008. Her best this season by 2.3 seconds. Newcomer Anna Juszcsyszyn ran a 5.5 second pr to cross the line in 2:30.07 finishing 9th. Bree Gleason was just behind her at 2:30.89 to just make it in the top 10. Burlington County Open

The ladychiefs competed at the Burlington County Open and finished 8th out of the 19 teams competing.This year's 4x800m relay team saw our only County Champion title. Olympic Conference Championships

The ladychiefs had one individual winner at the Olympic Conference Championships. Kaela Schrier threw the javelin 123' 2" to win the javelin competition. This meet also determined 1st team and 2nd team all conference honors. The 4x800m relay team(Jess McAdams, Tricia Donahue, Rachel Kodluk, and Anna Juszcsyszyn) got things started off on the right foot with a season best time of 10:19.97 good for 3rd place. Morgan Clark ran her pr in the open 400m at 59.90 for 5th place. Sarah Bowers threw her season pr of 35' 2.5" for 5th. Jess McAdams came back in the 800m to run a season best time of 2:23.40 for 5th. The 4x100m relay team had a line up change at the last minute, but still ran a fast 51.44

Cherokee Invitational

Cherokee once again hosted the Cherokee Invitational. This is a great meet for all of our novice runners to compete. A lot of great performances were seen on the track and in the field. Some notable highights were Ana Akbar dipping under 68 seconds running a liftime pr of 67.55 for 400m. Victoria Mitchelli also saw a season pr in the 100m running 14.73. Megan Staudt saw big pr's in both the 200m 30.26 and the 400m 69.73. Hayley Gazzara almost dipped under 3 minutes in the 800m running 3:01.37. Kayla Fericy cleared 7' for the first time in the pole vault and Christina Wynter threw in the 19's for the first time ever in the shot put. Team results can be found here

District Cup

The team had an incredible night at Cherokee with 25 season best performances, as we hosted the LRHSD cup. With 25 pr's. many of them being lifetime pr's the girls finiished 2nd behind a very tough Lenape team. Kaela Schrier was the only event winner with her toss in the javelin of 125' 4". Lifetime bests were seen by Lexi Badurina in the 100m Hurdles, Anna Juszcsyszyn's split in the 4x800, Megan Gernhardt in the 1600m, Shannon Young and Lexi Wilson in the 3200m, Morgan Clark and Taylro McGlashan's splits in the 4x400, Kaela Schrier in the shot put and Amanda Hyde in the Javelin. Rowan Open
